JET SKI TRAILER DIMENSIONS (2023 Guide)

When it comes to hauling your jet ski, a trailer is pretty necessary. Knowing the jet ski trailer dimensions is imperative!

Knowing your jet ski trailer dimensions is essential for ensuring that your vehicle can handle the load and that you comply with state weight regulations while on the road.

Several factors can impact the weight of a jet ski trailer, including the size and type of the trailer, the materials used in construction, and any additional features or accessories.

Deciding the right option for you is a time-consuming task. Especially when hunting down measurements, ensure everything can be stored correctly, without hassle.

Are you thinking about a Double Jet Ski Trailer, but aren’t sure if it will get in the garage? I’ve felt the same way!

It can be frustrating researching all the little important details before making a purchase, so we have created a table to show the length, width, weight, and capacity of your prospective watercraft Trailer.

Let’s get to it!

Average Jet Ski Trailer Dimensions

Single Jet Ski Trailers are generally around 148 to 182 inches. A double Jet Ski Trailer varies in length from around 170 inches to well over 210 inches. Quad Jet Ski Trailers can be massive and vary from 260+ inches to nearly 400 inches!

You will need to know the combined weight to be able to work out if your vehicle will have enough power to move it safely.

The width of a jet ski trailer is actually limited by US regulations which state a trailer cannot be wider that 102 inches.

That being said, the Triton Wave single trailer is incredibly slim at a width of 55 inches. Not that it could manage a lot of weight! We would advise only the smallest of PWC’s be loaded onto a Wave.

Some of the smaller single trailers can weight less than 200 pounds. The tiny Titon Wave is only 170 pounds! That is the weight of an average man.

Dimensions of a Double Jet Ski Trailer

Jet Ski Trailer sizes vary massively depending on how many PWC’s you need to be able to load.

The average jet ski trailer, (or single jet ski trailers) will be much narrower than double trailers. Makes sense!

A double Jet Ski Trailer varies in length from an average of around 180 inches to over 210 inches. There are a few exceptions, however, as ComFab produces a double jet ski trailer 167 inches in length.

As always, storage boxes or racks can extend the length of the trailer. The Shadow Trailers are exceptionally long.

What are the dimensions of a Quad Jet Ski Trailer?

Quad Jet Ski Trailers can be massive and vary from 260+ inches to over 400 inches!

The huge Shadow SHAD 4-Triple Axel Trailer is 378 inches in length. That’s nearly 32 feet!

But that isn’t the biggest.

HaulRite has an insane 33 foot 4 inch quad BEHEMOTH called the JS 4-Place. Amazing!

What is the Weight of a Jet Ski Trailer?

The weight of your jet ski + trailer should come into consideration when deciding to buy another PWC, or to go from a single to double, or even double to quad trailer.

Aluminum jet ski trailers will weigh differently to steel trailers.
Regular steel trailers will be a different weight to galvanized trailers.

But on the other end of the trailer scale, you are going to need some serious torque if you want to pull bulky trailers like the Shadow 4-Place Jet Ski Trailer!

Shadow don’t release their weights, so its hard to tell how many pounds the Shad4 actually weighs.

But you can compare it to the quad Triton ELITE WCIV which weighs in at 1200 pounds!

Type of Vehicle You’ll be Towing Your Personal Watercraft With

The type of vehicle you’ll be towing your jet ski with is also an essential factor in determining your PWC trailer.

Larger vehicles, such as SUVs and pickup trucks, will be able to tow longer trailers more safely than smaller vehicles, such as compact cars.

You don’t want to try pulling a quad Shadow loaded with watercraft in a Fiat!

You probably wouldn’t want to pull a trailer with a Fiat.

When choosing a trailer, it’s essential to consider your vehicle’s towing capacity and select a trailer that won’t exceed its limits.

Road Conditions and Regulations in Your Area

The road conditions and regulations in your area can also play a role in determining the length of your trailer.

In some areas, there may be restrictions on the maximum length of trailers that can be towed on the road.

Additionally, the roads in your area may be narrow or winding, which could make it more difficult to tow longer trailers safely.

Transporting long trailers along roads with tight corners can quickly become a nightmare.

Parking and Storage Space

Finally, you’ll need to consider the parking and storage space available when choosing the length of your trailer.

Longer trailers take up more space and may be difficult to park or store, mainly if you have limited space at home or at your storage facility. And obviously, double trailers will take up much more room than an average jet ski trailer.

Think ahead and get the measuring tape out!

The average size of a single car garage space is 12ft x 22 ft, however larger options such as 14×22 feet, 16×24 feet, or even 14×24 are pretty normal. Two car garages are generally approximately 18ft wide by 20 deep.

Choosing the Jet Ski Trailer with the dimensions for you!

Choosing the right length for your jet ski trailer can be challenging with so many factors to consider. However, by taking the time to consider your needs carefully and making informed decisions, you can ensure that you choose a safe and suitable trailer.

When selecting your trailer, it’s important to consider:

  • How many Jet Skis are you planning to transport?
  • The type of vehicle you’ll be towing with. Can your car handle a fully loaded-trailer?
  • Will you be getting more Jet Skis in the future?
  • The road conditions and regulations in your area, are there any limitations?
  • Your available parking and storage space.
  • How long is your jet ski trailer in comparison to your garage?
  • Can you maneuver an extended pwc trailer into your garage?

By considering these factors and making informed decisions, you can ensure that you choose a trailer that is safe, secure, and easy to transport your jet ski.
